1. Introduction
Qordova Inc. ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Mawadda mobile application ("Mawadda" or the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Mawadda, you agree to the practices described below.

2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide

2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
- Location data - We do not collect or store your GPS or precise location.
- Contacts - We do not access your phone contacts.
- Browsing history - We do not track your activity outside the App.
- Biometric data - We do not collect fingerprint, face, or voice biometrics.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide core features - Partner pairing, daily questions, deal breakers, games, memories, sticky notes, voice notes, and Wali oversight.
- Personalize your experience - Adapt content to your relationship stage (married, engaged, courting).
- Send notifications - Daily question reminders, streak alerts, and partner activity updates (based on your preferences).
- Maintain stability - Crash reports help us fix bugs and improve performance.
- Display ads - Non-personalized or personalized ads via Google AdMob to support the free tier of the App.
- Process subscriptions - Manage premium access through Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and our subscription provider (Qonversion).
4. How We Store and Protect Your Data
4.1 Infrastructure
- All data is transmitted using industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS).
- We use reputable, enterprise-grade cloud providers for database hosting, file storage, and authentication.
- Certain data is cached locally on your device for offline functionality. This data stays on your device.
4.2 Access Controls
We enforce strict access controls at the database level:
- Your profile is only readable by you, your connected partner, and (if enabled) your Wali.
- Couple data (answers, memories, sticky notes, games, deal breakers) is only accessible to the two connected partners and, if enabled, the Wali.
- No user can read, modify, or delete another user's data unless an explicit relationship exists (partner or Wali).
4.3 File Storage
- Uploaded files are protected by security rules that restrict access to authorized users only.
- File uploads are size-limited and type-restricted.
- All undefined storage paths are denied by default.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

We do not sell your personal data to any third party.
6. Data Sharing
We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
- With your connected partner - Shared couple content (answers, memories, sticky notes, deal breaker responses, game data) is visible to both partners.
- With your Wali (if enabled) - If you enable Wali access, the Wali can view couple activity, answers, text, and voice notes to fulfill their supervisory role.
- With third-party service providers - Only as described in Section 5 above, solely to operate the App.
- As required by law - If we are legally obligated to disclose information (e.g., court order, law enforcement request).
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
7. Data Retention
- Active accounts: We retain your data for as long as your account is active.
- Deleted accounts: When you delete your account (Settings > Delete Account), we perform an immediate and complete deletion:
- Your profile, answers, memories, media files, voice notes, game data, sticky notes, device tokens, and notification history are permanently deleted.
- Your couple record is deleted, and your partner is notified anonymously and reset to an unpaired state.
- Stored files (photos, voice notes) are removed from cloud storage.
- Your authentication record is deleted from Supabase.
- Crash logs: Firebase Crashlytics retains crash data per Google's retention policies (typically 90 days).
8. Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
- Access your data - View your profile and stored content within the App.
- Update your data - Edit your profile information and preferences at any time.
- Delete your account - Permanently delete all your data from Settings > Delete Account. This action is irreversible.
- Manage notifications - Adjust or disable notifications in Settings > Notifications.
- Opt out of personalized ads - You can reset your advertising identifier or limit ad tracking through your device settings.
- Request data export - Contact us at social@mawadda.app to request a copy of your data.
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or other jurisdictions with applicable data protection laws, you may also have additional rights such as data portability, restriction of processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
9. Children's Privacy
Mawadda is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 18, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us at social@mawadda.app.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top. If the changes are significant, we will notify you through the App or via email. Your continued use of Mawadda after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
