Child Safety Standards
Qordova Inc. — Mawadda App
Effective Date: June 26, 2026 | Last Updated: June 26, 2026
1. Our Commitment
Mawadda is committed to providing a safe environment for all users and complies with all applicable laws relating to the protection of minors. Mawadda has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
Mawadda is designed exclusively for adult Muslim couples who are either engaged or married, and is rated 18+ across both Google Play and the Apple App Store. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18.
2. How Mawadda is Designed to Protect Children
- Age-gated audience. Mawadda is intended for users 18 and older. Both our Google Play and Apple App Store listings declare an 18+ target audience and content rating.
- No public discovery. Mawadda has no public profiles, no matching algorithm, no friend search, and no stranger-to-stranger interaction. Users connect only with their own pre-invited spouse via a private 6-character pairing code that they exchange in person or through trusted channels outside the app.
- One-to-one private context. All user-generated content, including notes, photos, voice recordings, and game data, is shared exclusively between two paired partners. There is no public feed, no group chat, and no broadcast surface where content could be exposed to a wider audience.
- No content discovery for non-paired users. Even within Mawadda, a user can never view content from anyone other than their own paired partner.
3. Reporting Concerns
We provide multiple ways for users and the public to report any child safety concerns:
- In the app. Open Mawadda > Settings > Report a Safety Concern. This opens a pre-filled report addressed to our safety team.
- By email. Concerns can be sent directly to developer@mawadda.app.
4. Response and Action
- Triage. All reports are reviewed by Mawadda's safety team within 72 hours of receipt.
- Enforcement. Confirmed violations result in immediate account termination, content deletion, and termination of any pairing associated with the offending account.
- Reporting to authorities. When Mawadda becomes aware of apparent CSAM, we report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) in compliance with 18 U.S.C. § 2258A. We also cooperate with equivalent reporting obligations in other jurisdictions where applicable.
- Cooperation with law enforcement. Mawadda will provide non-content account information (such as account creation timestamps and last-known sign-in information) in response to valid legal process from law enforcement.
5. Compliance with Applicable Law
Mawadda complies with all applicable child safety laws, including but not limited to:
- The U.S. PROTECT Act
- The U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), applied through our 18+ age targeting
- 18 U.S.C. § 2258A reporting requirements to NCMEC
- The EU Digital Services Act provisions on the protection of minors
- The UK Online Safety Act
