Mawadda is an app for Muslim couples. Every night the two of you get the same question. Your answer stays sealed until your spouse has answered too, and then both open together, side by side.

Around that nightly question sit Candid photos for married couples, games for two, Dealbreakers, and Sulh Mode for the hard nights. The name comes from the love and mercy (mawadda and rahma) Allah places between spouses (Quran 30:21).

No. There are no profiles to browse, no matching and no strangers. Mawadda is for the two of you, after the nikah or on the way to it.

Yes. Mawadda is for couples who are married and for couples on the way to it. The Dealbreakers deck is a good place to start before you marry: each of you answers privately, then you see where you both stand.

Seeds are earned together. You plant them by answering the nightly question, keeping your streak alive and finishing games in the arcade. They grow your own garden and the Ummah's Garden that every Mawadda couple shares.

For every 10,000 Barakah Seeds the community plants, the founders of Mawadda give $1 to orphan care on the community's behalf. Seeds have no cash value and cannot be bought.

Open the invite sheet from Home or Profile. Send the invite on WhatsApp, send it another way, or copy the code and share it however you like. It is the same sheet everywhere in the app.

If your partner sent you a code, tap "I have a code" and enter it. Once you are connected, Profile shows "Partner connection" instead.

Yes. You can answer tonight's question on your own. Your answer stays sealed on your phone. When your partner arrives, your last three nights go with you.

You can start without an account. Before you pair, each of you answers twelve sealed questions about life together. They open together the day you connect, so twelve conversations are already waiting.

No. A pairing is exactly two accounts: you and your spouse. Nobody else can join, read along or play.

Either of you can end the pairing at any time from the Profile tab: Partner connection, then Remove connection. The other person is notified. Your shared history is archived, and a new pairing starts fresh.

Each night, both of you get the same question. Write a sentence or record a short voice note. You only see your spouse's answer once you have sent your own, so neither answer is shaped by the other. When both are in, the two answers open together, side by side.

Tonight's question rolls over at midnight, so the two of you are always asked the same one. A question you missed stays open, so a late night does not cost you the exchange. You can set a reminder for the hour that suits your own night.

Free couples get the Fun and Family categories. Mawadda Premium opens Deep, Deen, Future and the rest.

Yes. Old Reflections is your shared archive of every night, with search and category chips. Free couples can go back four days. Mawadda Premium keeps every night open.

Candid is for married couples who both choose it. Twice a week your phones buzz at the same moment, and you each send a photo of wherever you are.

Yes. Add the Mawadda widget to your home screen and it shows your partner's latest Candid photo.

Yes. In settings you can change how often Candid comes, or leave it.

Four games built for exactly two players. Trivia Duel puts the same questions on both phones. Word Relay has you build a chain of words together against the clock. Camera Roll is a photo scavenger hunt through your own galleries. Geo Habibi drops you somewhere in the world and you guess where.

Nobody else can join and there is no solo mode. A finished game ends on both phones with the same score.

Free couples get one game each night, chosen in rotation. Mawadda Premium opens the whole arcade every night.

Mawadda is free to use. Mawadda Premium is an optional auto-renewing subscription. It opens every question category, the whole arcade every night and your full Old Reflections archive. It also removes ads.

Prices vary by region. The Premium page in the app shows the prices from your store, and the categories Premium opens, before you subscribe.

No. One plan covers you both. When one of you subscribes, Mawadda Premium follows the pairing to your spouse's account, and your spouse is not charged again.

Yes. The yearly plan comes with a free week (a 7-day trial), once per Apple ID or Google account. You can start it before your partner joins. We remind you two days before it renews. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the yearly plan is charged.

Tap Restore Purchases on the Premium page. It reconnects a subscription bought under the same App Store or Google Play account.

Subscriptions are managed by the store. On iPhone: Settings, your name, Subscriptions. On Android: Google Play, Payments and subscriptions, Subscriptions. You keep Mawadda Premium until the end of the period you paid for.

Deleting the app or your account does not cancel the subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies.

Subscription terms

Your answers, voice notes and photos are shared with one person: the spouse you paired with. Everything travels to and from our servers over an encrypted TLS connection, and on the server every table is protected by row-level security, so one account cannot read another couple's rows.

Your phone also keeps a local copy so the app opens quickly. That copy is protected by your device's own security, which is why a passcode or biometric lock on your phone matters. We do not sell personal data.

Privacy Policy

Yes, in part. Photos, past answers and prices stay on your phone, so the app opens faster and still shows them when you are offline.

Open the Profile tab, tap Delete account, type DELETE and confirm. Deletion is immediate and permanent, and it removes your answers, voice notes and photos with it. Your spouse is unpaired and notified.

If you cannot open the app, email info@mawadda.app from your account's address and we complete the request within 7 business days.

Full deletion details

Open the Profile tab and tap "Report a concern" under Support & privacy. That opens an email to us with your account reference already filled in, so we can find the account without you having to look anything up. A person reads every one of these. Nothing you send is shared with your partner.

You can also disconnect from Profile at any time, and deleting your account removes your side of the exchange.

The free tier does. Ads come from Google AdMob: banners on a few screens, an optional rewarded video you choose to watch, and a skippable ad after some games. Their content rating is capped at G, and we never send your answers, names or relationship details to advertisers.

Mawadda Premium removes all ads for both of you.

Yes. Open the Profile tab and tap Ads to choose between generic ads and more relevant ones. Until you choose, ads are generic. On iPhone, choosing more relevant ads brings up Apple's tracking prompt, and you can change your answer later in Settings, Privacy and Security, Tracking.

Where the law asks for consent first (for example the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), Profile also has Ad privacy options for changing your consent.

iPhone with iOS 15 or later, and Android 7 or later. Download it from the App Store or Google Play. Your spouse can be on either.

Mawadda is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account. The App Store lists it as 17+ and Google Play as 18+.

Yes. Open the Profile tab and look for Appearance. Day is warm sand, maroon and gold, Night is a green theme for late reading, and System follows your phone. The change takes effect straight away.
